How to make a Network Cable (crimp RJ-45 onto Cat5)
The following tools and parts will be needed: - Network Cable (cable containing 4 twisted pair such as Cat5 or Cat5e)
- RJ-45 Connector
- RJ-45 Crimper
- Knife

- Cut about an inch of the outter shield off of the end of the wire without cutting into any of the inside wires
- Cut the exposed string and/or plastic

- Untwist the 8 wires and arrange them in this order: Orange/White, Orange, Blue/White, Green, Green/White, Blue, Brown/White, Brown
- Cut the wires back to 1/2"

- Place the RJ-45 end firmly on the wires with the clip facing down
- Visually inspect the wire layout to make sure the order has remained the same
- Use RJ-45 Crimper to crimp the wires into the RJ-45 end
 - Crimp other end if needed and test/use cable
